MatSu Heli Training offers a well-maintained fleet of Robinson helicopters to support every stage of your training. Most students begin in the R22, the industry standard for primary instruction, with opportunities to advance into the R44 Raven II and R66 Turbine for commercial or turbine transition training.
All aircraft are maintained to the highest standards by Pollux Aviation’s in-house maintenance team, ensuring safety and reliability every flight.
R22 Beta II
The R22 is our primary training helicopter and an industry favorite for student pilots around the world. Its lightweight, responsive handling helps new pilots quickly develop strong control coordination and precision.
Efficient, affordable, and dependable, the R22 is the perfect platform for mastering the fundamentals of helicopter flight.
R44 II
The R44 Raven II provides the next step up in performance and capability. With four seats, more power, and a stable platform, it’s ideal for students progressing into commercial training or preparing for larger helicopter operations.
The R44 is likely to be the first helicopter you will fly on the job, so having hours in this machine can be beneficial for getting that first flying gig.
R66 Turbine
For advanced students and turbine transition training, the R66 offers a powerful and modern platform featuring a Rolls-Royce RR300 turbine engine. Smooth, fast, and capable, it bridges the gap between piston trainers and professional turbine aircraft.
The R66 is also available for instrument training and advanced maneuvers when scheduling and aircraft availability allow.
