Pollux Aviation

MatSu Heli Training operates as the flight training division of Pollux Aviation, one of Alaska’s most trusted and experienced helicopter companies. With decades of real-world operations across the state, Pollux is built on safety, professionalism, and skill in Alaska’s challenging environments.

This connection gives our students a unique advantage. Unlike most flight schools, MatSu Heli Training is directly linked to an active Part 135 utility operation, where students learn from and interact with professional pilots every day. Our instructors are active utility pilots who bring current field experience into the classroom and cockpit—giving students a true look at what life as a working helicopter pilot is all about.

Our Vision

We envision MatSu Heli Training as a place where aspiring pilots can build strong foundations, grow professionally, and step confidently into challenging operational roles. Through excellence in instruction, mentorship, and culture, we aim to train the next generation of professional rotorcraft aviators.

Our roots &
Mission

Pollux Aviation has served Alaska since 1991, operating a large fleet of Robinson helicopters and performing a wide range of missions statewide. Recognizing the demand for high-quality rotorcraft instruction, Pollux established MatSu Heli Training to deliver rigorous, safe, and immersive helicopter training right from our base in Wasilla (Wolf Lake Airport).

Our mission is to cultivate confident, capable helicopter pilots who are ready for real-world missions across Alaska and beyond.
